It was first reported a couple of days ago that OSU's defensive coordinator, Glenn Spencer, had interviewed for the head coaching vacancy at UT-San Antonio.
The Road Runners' head coaching position became vacant with the resignation of former Oklahoma State assistant (and national champion - Miami) Larry Coker.
However, UTSA has made the decision to hire LSU's Frank Wilson, per FootballScoop.
This is good news for Cowboys' fans. Although there has been some grumbling from fans, losing Spencer would be a huge blow to the program (especially at this time of year). The defense certainly didn't live up to its' billing down the home stretch of 2015. But make no mistake, Spencer is a quality coach and is a big part of the Pokes' defensive improvement over the past several years.
Let's not ignore the possible recruiting implications this may have had. But, for now, OSU still has the Spencinator and he will no doubt supply us with more memorable warrior quotes to keep get us all amped up for Cowboy football.
