It's no surprise, but for the third time this season freshman Jawun Evans is this week's Big 12 Newcomer of The Week. Evans is the first Cowboy basketball player to receive this award three times since Marcus Smart in 2012-13.
Last week, Evans scored 22 points, eight assists and six rebounds when the Cowboys upset No. 3 Kansas. Also, he is leading the team with an average of 16.5 points, five assists and five rebounds. Evans is leading in Big 12 freshman in scoring and has 93 assists.
