An eventful match in Austin resulted in a Cowgirl win in double overtime.
With 28:50 remaining in regulation, the Longhorns took a 1-0 lead, scoring their only goal coming off a header on a corner kick.
The Cowgirls would score the equalizer just a few minutes later when junior forward Niki McKnight, who nearly scored on her own, sent a ball grazing off the goal post just enough for senior forward Courtney Dike to clean it up.
The match made it to the second overtime before sophomore forward Haley Woodard scored a golden goal in the 104th minute to secure the Cowgirls’ first conference win.
Here’s head coach Colin Carmichael and Haley Woodard on Woodard’s game-winning goal and the dramatic win in Austin.
