The insanity that is Big 12 Expansion continues today, with the league set to hold a press conference at 5:30 p.m. League Commissioner Bob Bowlsby is expected to speak following the Board of Directors meetings going on right now. The hot topic is of course, expansion; will the league add teams? If so, how many and who? A week ago it seemed like Big 12 expansion might be dead... but according to some clues on twitter, that might not be the case.
First came this tweet from BYU last night:
Special LIVE #BYUSN edition Monday at 6pm ET for complete #BYUtoBig12 coverage including press conference on BYUtv & BYU Radio pic.twitter.com/EcO9Zqvhdh

The fact that the school plans to broadcast the press conference is interesting enough. Adding #BYUtoBig12 gets my spidey-sense really tingling.
The big kicker came this morning with this tweet:

It’s looking more and more like the Big 12 will be adding Cincinnati and BYU to the league. We won’t know anything for sure until tonight’s press conference. I know one thing though, I’ll be watching tonight.
Of course, CRFF will continue to follow this story and bring you updates after the press conference.
Update 2:40pm: Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated and Chip Brown of Scout’s HornsDigest.com are reporting that they’ve heard from sources that no new members were added to the Big 12.
Source: Status quo in the Big 12. No members added. League still discussing adding more TV revenue from ESPN and Fox.
