James Smith of the New Orleans Times-Picayune released an article this morning discussing the coaching candidates being considered for the LSU job.
Jimbo Fisher (FSU) and Ed Orgeron (LSU interim coach) are the strong front runners to take over the vacancy left by Les Miles according to Smith’s sources. Smith states:
The sources were given anonymity to speak freely about the school's search to fill the vacancy.
The article goes on to discuss both Fisher and Orgeron in further detail. So, where does Mike Gundy become involved?

Smith states the following at the bottom of the article:
Other names being considered by LSU are North Carolina coach Larry Fedora, Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy and Houston coach Tom Herman.
LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva is looking to make a decision by the beginning of December.
I don’t think Gundy would leave OSU for LSU, but it’s interesting that his name was mentioned to Smith by these “sources”. It’s definitely something to pay attention to through the end of the season.
