Take a look at CRFF’s staff power rankings after Week 11

Welcome to this week’s Big 12 power rankings. In this post, we rank the Big 12 teams from the bottom to the top.

Eight CRFF staff members voted this week. For the first time all year, there is not a unanimous #1.

Check out our Big 12 Power Rankings below, and lets us know how you would rank them in the comments below!

We start at #10. This team had a chance to escape the cellar for the first time all season, but alas, they did not.

10. Kansas Jayhawks

Moving to #9, this team came out victorious in the cellar-dweller bowl, thus cementing their ranking for what is likely to be the rest of the season.

9. Iowa State Cyclones

This team nearly scored a huge upset road win last weekend and probably would’ve shot up the rankings. However, a missed extra point late in the fourth quarter keeps them where they were last week.

8. Texas Tech Red Raiders

The next team in our power rankings is sliding hard, and had Texas Tech won last weekend, would’ve found themselves lower in these rankings. It’s quite a plummet from the #2 spot they claimed just two weeks ago.

7. Baylor Bears

The next team in our power rankings is trying its hardest, but keeps coming up short. They nearly scored another upset win last weekend, but a valiant late effort would fall just short. That Baylor win last weekend is suddenly not very impressive, as the Bears have now lost their last three games.

6. Texas Longhorns

Moving to the fifth spot, we find a team that is surging late. Coming off a 40-point win over a depleted Baylor and a bye week, the Horned Frogs have a chance to streak up this list late in the season. First order of business, though, is taking care of Oklahoma State at home on Saturday (please don’t).

5. TCU Horned Frogs

Probably the most surprising team in the Big 12 this season claims our fourth spot in this weeks power ranking. The ‘Cats have a chance to win eight games this season if they can win out against Baylor, TCU and KU.

4. Kansas State Wildcats

This team has been disrespected all season, but in these power rankings, their placement makes sense. Despite having only one loss, they lost to a team ranked above them in these power rankings, therefore justifying their ranking this week. They’ll have a chance to cause a major shakeup this weekend if they can grab a win against Oklahoma.

3. West Virginia Mountaineers

Avert your eyes, OSU fans. They arguably have the most impressive win in the Big 12 this season, knocking off then-top-10 West Virginia. Like a few of the teams in this list, the Cowboys have a chance to supplant the number one team by winning out. If OSU can grab road wins against TCU and OU, they’ll be Big 12 champions, and number one on this list.

2. Oklahoma State Cowboys (2*)

The top team in our power rankings resides just 90 miles south of our number two team. The CRFF staff agrees that Oklahoma is the most complete team in the conference as of now, but our confidence in them is wavering. They were a unanimous number one two weeks ago, but with Oklahoma State catching fire, it has sparked a conversation about who really is the top team in the conference.

We decided the top-ranked team in the Big 12 is... The Oklahoma Sooners (6*).
