Oklahoma State Basketball Enters The Latest ESPN Power Rankings

Someone is (finally) paying attention to Brad Underwood’s team

NCAA Basketball: Maui Invitational- Georgetown vs Oklahoma State Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time this season, Oklahoma State is ranked in a Top 25 poll. ESPN has the Cowboys at No. 25 in their latest power rankings.

Sure, the Cowboys got blasted by UNC, but the Tar Heels are a top-five team. Jawun Evans is arguably the best guard in the country, and Okie State has knocked off UConn and Georgetown.

The Cowboys are currently 5-1 on the season and are coming off a third place finish in the Maui Invitational. That included wins of UConn and Georgetown. While neither team has a winning record (UConn is 2-4, Georgetown is 3-4) they are still big wins over solid programs that will compete to make the tournament this year.

The ESPN ranking should help alleviate some of the irritation of Cowboy fans. OSU was snubbed by the AP Poll this week, failing to receive even a single vote.

OSU is one of four Big 12 teams ranked in the latest Big 12 Power Rankings, joining Iowa State, Baylor, and Kansas.

Brad Underwood and the Cowboys return to the court on Wednesday night for the first time since Maui, to face Rogers State in Stillwater. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
