That was fun! The second (and last) MVP Bye Week Bonus Round is in the books! Everyone got a chance this week to pick a former OSU athlete-turned-pro. The winner gets three bonus points while second place gets one point!
Here were the standings heading into the week:
Cade - 32 points
Dustin - 31 points
Phillip - 31 points
Christopher/Kyle - 27 points
Joel - 26 points
So lets see how everyone did:
Phillip - Rickie Fowler
Cade - Emmanuel Ogbah
Dustin - Dez Bryant
Christopher - Dan Bailey
Joel - Marcus Smart
While the Browns’ winless season continued with a loss to the Giants, Ogbah did contribute three total tackles, a pass break-up, and a QB hit. That’s a nice day but not enough for points. Dez Bryant had a solid outing against Washington, catching 5 of his 7 targets for 72 yards and no touchdowns. It’s nice, but mediocre for him. Marcus Smart played 27 minutes off the bench and contributed 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 10 assists in the Celtics’ 109-103 loss to the Spurs on Friday. However, Smart was 0-3 from three and had a +/- of -6. Fowler had the most impressive weekend finishing in a three-way tie for 2nd at the World Cup of Golf at 16 under, but he had a partner so I can’t give him the win.
That means the 3 points goes to Dan Bailey, who hit a 46 yard field goal (his only one) and was a perfect 4/4 on extra points. With the number of kickers missing PATs lately, that’s actually pretty impressive. Second place goes to Fowler. Teammate or not, it was a good weekend for him.
(On a side note, fellow OSU alum Alex Noren and his teammate finished alone in 5th just one shot back from Fowler and Walker at the WCOG. Also, did anyone realize Noren was ranked No. 9 in the world?!)
With that, let’s update the standings:
Cade - 32 points
Phillip - 32 points
Dustin - 31 points
Christopher/Kyle - 30 points
Joel - 26 points
With only two drafts left (Bedlam and the Bowl Game) we’ve got one tight race! Come back Thursday for our Bedlam picks!
