In his article released Friday afternoon, CBS College Basketball analyst Doug Gottlieb named five teams he expected to stumble early in the season and get upset. Wouldn’t you know it, one of those teams is facing his alma mater, the Oklahoma State University Cowboys.
In his article, Gottlieb mentions the dynamic backcourt of the Cowboys - and Jawun Evans especially - as the key factor in their upset over the Connecticut Huskies in the Maui Invitational later this month.
Gottlieb also made a prediction about Forte, as well as said why he believed UConn would be handed a loss at the hands of Brad Underwood and Co.
The other four teams placed on upset alert are NC State, Stanford, UCLA, and Cal.
NC State (presumably) plays Creighton in the second round of the Paradise Jam tournament in the Virgin Islands.
Stanford and Harvard are headed to the Far East to square off in the second edition of the Pac-12 China game.
UCLA and Dayton (again, presumably) will face each other in the second round of the Wooden Legacy tournament.
Cal is on upset alert when they face the Princeton Tigers in the Pearl Harbor Invitational from Hawaii in December.
Let’s hope the former Cowboy standout is correct!
