Brad Underwood is leaving no stone un-turned when it comes to recruiting. Last night Underwood’s coaching staff picked up a commitment from 6’8” Forward Souleymane Diakite of Mali.

Diakite currenty attends Canterbury International Basketball Academy (CIBA) in Gran Cancaria (It’s one of Spain’s Canary Islands).
There’s not much about him on the usual rankings sites (Rivals, Scout, ESPN) because he plays overseas. However, with a little digging I found that while competing in the Spanish National U16 Championships on the CIBA U16 Team he was the team’s top scorer. He’s also considered one of the best rebounders for his age in Spain.
This is Underwood’s second overseas recruit, following the commitment of Lucas N’Guessan to the 2016 class. Diakite joins 4-star point guard Zack Dawson as the second recruit in the 2017 class.
