Johny Hendricks has missed weight for his UFC 207 fight against Neil Magny.
The former UFC welterweight champion and two-time NCAA wrestling champion at Oklahoma State struggled with his weight cut for the second straight time, weighing in at 173.5 pounds, 2.5 pounds over the 171-pound weight limit for his welterweight bout.
The fight will still happen Friday, as Magny (17-5) has agreed to take the fight against Hendricks (18-5) reports MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani. Hendricks will forfeit 20 percent of his purse to Magny, who made weight at 171 pounds.
It is the second straight fight Hendricks has stepped on the scaled and missed weight. He previously missed weight for his UFC 200 bout against Kelvin Gastelum, weighing 171.25 pounds. Hendricks lost the fight via unanimous decision.
For his UFC 192 bout against Tyron Woodley in November 2015, Hendricks was dropped from the card after he was rushed to the emergency room and given an IV for weight-cut related health issues.
Hendricks, however, did make weight in February for his UFC Fight Night 82 bout against Stephen Thompson, but dropped the fight as Thompson earned a first-round TKO win over Hendricks. It was the first time Hendricks has been finished in his career.
Hendricks last victory came in March 2015 at UFC 185 against Matt Brown via unanimous decision.
