This week has been rough for the Cowgirls as TCU pulled the upset, 65-79.
In the first quarter, OSU improved its scoring efficiency, compared to Baylor game by shooting 67 percent. However, TCU was shooting hot as well, hovering around 50 percent. The scoring drought bug bit the Cowgirls again in the second quarter as TCU went on a 9-0 run to take the lead, 35-28. The Horn Frogs shooting remained hot from that point on as they hit six three-pointers to take the lead at halftime, 38-35.
After halftime, OSU tied the ballgame at 38, but TCU went on another scoring run to stay in the lead, 49-43. At one point in the third quarter, OSU had turned the ball over 16 times. Senior All-American Brittney Martin ended the game with 14 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Another Cowgirl contributor was sophomore Kaylee Jensen with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Roddricka Patton leads the game-high on assists with 11 assists to end the game.
Oklahoma State is now 19-7 overall and 9-5 in conference and drops to fourth place in the Big 12 behind West Virginia. At this point, the Cowgirls are looking to improve their seeding hopes for the upcoming Big 12 Tournament, the NCAA Tournament in March and hope to squeeze in the top 16 to host the NCAA as well.
