The four-star athlete from Lancaster, Texas, has had an eventful recruiting process. After initially committing to Oklahoma State in April, Alexander reopened his recruiting in July before again committing to the Pokes in November following his official visit to Stillwater.
There were late pushes from Arkansas and Oregon (including an official visit to Fayetteville), but Alexander reaffirmed his commitment on Friday.
He held offers from several schools including Oregon, Arkansas, Arizona State, Houston and Tennessee as well as Big-12 schools: Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, West Virginia and Iowa State.
Alexander played QB in high school but is being recruited to play wide receiver. At 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, Alexander has the size to be a deep threat weapon and could follow in the footsteps of other athletic rangy receivers OSU has had. With a pass-heavy attack, Alexander could put up some big numbers and may be able to compete for early playing time. Gundy has shown no issues in giving true freshmen a shot at the skill positions (especially receiver), i.e. Josh Stewart, James Washington, Jalen McCleskey. The list goes on.
No doubt this is a big get for Gundy and company after some key commits flipped earlier in the recruiting cycle.
