The University of Texas-San Antonio has fired its basketball coach, Brooks Thompson. Thompson has been in San Antonio since 2006, when he led the Road Runners to a 7-22 record. His high at UTSA was 2010-2011 when his Roadrunners won 20 games and made the NCAA Tournament as a 16-seed before losing to Ohio State 75-46.
Thompson had a 128-151 record going into this season before leading UTSA to a 5-27 record. His teams had not been over .500 since 2011.
Thompson, a former OSU player (1992-94), is now another former Poke on the market that OSU Athletic Director Mike Holder could be looking at soon, if coach Travis Ford is to be let go. However, it is not expected he is a candidate for the job.
