Jordan Bishop of The O'Colly, Oklahoma State's campus newspaper, got a chance to sit down with Athletic Director Mike Holder. Holder, who hired and as of yesterday, fired coach Travis Ford, is now going through his next coaching search for the OSU basketball program.
In this article written by Bishop, that we highly encourage you to read, Holder hits on the biggest talking point among social media fans right now.
Doug Gottlieb and his candidacy for the head job in Stillwater. The main problem with most is his experience, which appears to be Holder's as well.
"I mean, really, if you're a Cowboy, how could you not like (Gottlieb)?" Holder said. "I'm so proud of what he's done and been able to accomplish and the image he presents for our institution. ... But I think it's important for us to be rational about how we approach this. Now, will he be considered? Why not? The kicker for him is that you've got to get over the fact that he's never coached a game. That's huge."
- From The O'Colly
This obviously isn't ruling out the possibility of Gottlieb becoming the next coach completely, but it sure does seem that he's not the first choice.
