OSU and Travis Ford "mutually agreed to part ways" on March 18 after eight seasons. The 46-year-old coach posted a 155-111 overall record with five NCAA Tournament appearances. The Cowboys finish the season with a 12-20 overall record, just the fourth 20-loss season in program history. OSU hasn't lost more than 14 games since the 1986-87 season, when it went 8-20.
OSU will owe Ford $2.4 million per year, to be paid out monthly during the next three years.
Candidates for the job include Arkansas State head coach Chris Beard, USC head coach Andy Enfield, CBS Sports analyst and former OSU point guard Doug Gottlieb, Wichita State head coach Gregg Marshall, Stephen F. Austin head coach Brad Underwood and Virginia Tech head coach Buzz Williams.
