Phil Forte confirmed he'll return to Oklahoma State next season when he spoke with the media following head coach Brad Underwood's inductory press conference Wednesday, reports John Helsley of The Oklahoman.
"I'm coming back," Forte told reporters following Underwood's introductory press conference. "The four years here at Oklahoma State have been the best four years of my life. You can't ask for anything else. I obviously had a great relationship with Coach (Travis) Ford, can't take anything away from him.
"But it's these teammates. It's the fans. It's the community. It's Stillwater. I just can't see myself going anywhere else. I can't see myself putting on another jersey, another uniform."
Forte, a senior guard, suffered a torn ligament in his left elbow Nov. 19, while diving for a loose ball against Towson at home. The injury proved to be a season-ending. He was leading the Cowboys with 13.3 points per game at the time of the injury. He has applied for a medical redshirt.
Forte averaged 15.0 points per game last season.
