Bill Haisten of the Tulsa World interviewed former Oklahoma State head coach and 2016 Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame finalist Eddie Sutton for a series they are doing on Eddie Sutton, prior to his 80th birthday. It's very good. You should check all of them out.

Sutton was asked about his former point guard, Doug Gottlieb, as a possible replacement if current head coach Travis Ford is bought out of his contract following an all-time worst 3-15 conference record.

"Doug is smart. I think he would be a great recruiter. If he's smart enough to get good assistant coaches -- guys who (are) similar to the way he feels -- I think he would be all right."

Eddie talked about the home crowds at GIA.

"There was a period there (at Gallagher-Iba Arena) when the place was rocking, and it was as good as any place in America. It's not that way now...

...If they change the coach -- hopefully we can get somebody that all of us can pull together and try to get it back."
