Justin Gilbert Ready For a Fresh Start

"I'm excited for Justin. He's been working, just been grinding, just been trying to study. That's all I can ask for.''

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Cleveland Browns' cornerback Joe Haden spoke about his return from injury as well as the upcoming season and the new coaching regime.

The two-time Pro Bowler also gave some insight on his current backup, 2014 1st round pick and former Oklahoma State standout Justin Gilbert.

Haden has even noticed a change in 2014 first-round pick Justin Gilbert, who played sparingly under Pettine. Gilbert is currently subbing for Haden, but got on the wrong side of some veterans during his first two seasons.

"I think he feels the same way everybody does in the building as far as a new start,'' Haden said. "So just with Gilbert feeling like that, feeling like the coaches have his back, feeling like the players have his back, he's just been working his tail off, and that's all you can ask for."

The former eighth overall pick has only started three games in two seasons with the Browns and has been mentioned in the news more for his attitude off the field than any production on it.

Hopefully Gilbert will take this opportunity for a fresh start and a chance to recommit himself. It sounds like he is on the right track.
