Sutton's coaching pedigree is well known, especially around these parts. But many may not know that his first head coaching job was at Tulsa Central High School.
After Sutton's playing career at Oklahoma State (then Oklahoma A&M) ended in 1958, he spent one year as Coach Iba's assistant at his alma mater. The very next year, Sutton took the head coaching job at Tulsa Central High School.
After seven years in Oklahoma high school basketball, he jumped to college ranks at the College of Southern Idaho and the rest is history, as they say.
