Phil Forte has a familiar face to help him prepare for his final season in orange.

When Brad Underwood was announced as the new head coach of the Oklahoma State men's basketball program, he knew his first task was connecting with the team, namely senior Phil Forte and and Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Jawun Evans.

As Brad Underwood was filling out his coaching staff this spring, he had a unique opportunity to connect further with his senior sharp-shooter.

"Coach Underwood told me... who his hires were going to be. (He said) "Coach Henderson. You should give him a call and tell him you're going to transfer to Boise..."

Well, at least the Cowboys' new head coach has a sense of humor.

Aside from the familiarity of coaching Forte and Marcus Smart at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, TX, Henderson brings a plenty of street cred, amassing 700-plus wins in Texas High School basketball.

He's since spent the last three seasons on the staff at Boise State. But be assured that he's kept his Texas recruiting connections alive.

Here's the full interview from Oklahoma State.
