Coleman Scott is ranked No. 17 at 61 kilograms, up one spot, in the latest UWW World freestyle rankings for May. Scott is one of six American men ranked.
The former Oklahoma State national champion and 2012 Olympic bronze medalist outscored his opponents 28-4 en route to a first place finish at the Pan American Championships in April in Frisco, Texas. He also went 1-1 at the U.S. Olympic Trials. He recorded a 14-4 technical fall over Joe Colon before falling to Tony Ramos on criteria in the semifinals.
The other five Americans ranked are top-ranked Jordan Burroughs (74kg), No. 2 Kyle Snyder (97kg), No. 5 James Green (70kg), No. 13 Tervel Dlagnev (125kg) and No. 15 Aaron Pico (70kg).
Burroughs, Snyder and Dlagnev each won their respective weight classes at the Olympic Trials, while the 19-year-old Pico fell short of his Olympic bid in the finals. Green finished second at the Pan American Championships.
