Facts
Oklahoma State - This is the 20th time we have been to the CWS in program history, our first since 1999. Head Coach, Josh Holliday, played on that 1999 team. OSU is one of the hottest teams in college baseball, going 5-0 through regionals/super regionals.
UC Santa Barbara - This is UC Santa Barbara’s first CWS appearance in program history. As of now, the starting pitchers for either team have yet to be announced, but if the Gauchos call upon Shane Bieber, we could be in for a real battle. Bieber (Shane, not Justin) is 12-3 on the season with a 2.84 ERA. UC Santa Barbara is also riding a hot streak as they went undefeated through their regionals/super regionals as well.
The winners of this game will play the winner of the Miami v. Arizona on Monday, and our losers will match up against their losers earlier that same day. Let’s not be those losers!
Side note: I believe we will have a few writers in Omaha this weekend, if you’d like to say “hey!”, tweet us at @CowboysRFF
Side note 2.0: If you are not able to make it to Omaha this weekend, come hang out at CRFF. We will have a Gamethread up for the afternoon where fans can come chat about the game.
Go Pokes!!!
