CRFF Ranks: CWS Uniforms

In this case, you can't argue bias.

The Cowboys are in the middle a historic College World Series run, so we here at CRFF thought we'd have a little fun.

We've decided to rank the uniforms for each CWS team. This is all opinion but since I came up with the list, it's 100% correct and non debatable.

But if you somehow disagree, go ahead and let us have it in the comment section below.

8. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers

Kyle

Their bats may be hot, but their uni's are not.

Sorry, Coastal. The over-sized nightgown look was never in style.

Austin

It looks like Coastal Carolina had a $100 budget to get all of their jerseys done. Here's how that meeting went:

"So, how would you like them to look?"

"I don't know, we don't really have any money. I guess just put Coastal Carolina on a black t-shirt"

"Uh, okay. That'll only be like $13 a shirt."

"Seriously? $13?"

"I mean, yeah. The vinyl print costs more than you would think."

"Okay, well just take off "Carolina" then."

"So, you want it to just say "Coastal"?"

...

"Yeah, sure, whatever."

Phillip

These are just bad. They are so baggy. It's like getting a hand-me-down shirt from your dad you hope to "grow in to".

Cade

Okay, I have to admit something first. I love Coastal Carolina's colors. That being said, the execution of their uniforms as a whole is subpar at best. But could you expect anything else with Russell uniforms? The best thing that Russell makes is sweatpants, and Nike does that better. Coastal Carolina, just don't do it.

7. Miami Hurricanes

I don't get it. Here's is how this meeting should have gone.

"Gothic lettering? Sure, sounds kinda cool... Oh.. Ewww, never mind. That doesn't work at all."

But it didn't go that way and now we have this. Luckily, that was the last time we will see it this year.

Austin

Gothic lettering. Enough said.

Phillip

If not for CC... I hate to beat a dead horse but... Gothic Lettering. Just say no.

Cade

These are straight fire. Fire of the dumpster variety.

6. Florida Gators

Kyle

Um, they're fine. Not hideous but nothing exciting. The Gators lose points for having such great colors and still coming up with something so boring.

Austin

So much potential, so little to show of it. One of the best color schemes IMO, and you come up with those? Really? You guys even messed up the hats. Do better next time, Florida.

Phillip

These feel like they're almost good. The color scheme is great. That hat though. That "F" is more Marlins than Gators. The pants look good. Maybe swap the buttons for a pullover...? I don't know. Just try harder.

Cade

Florida's uniform took a page out of Florida football's playbook. As Austin said, "so much potential, so little to show of it." So true. I love the hat here, so I disagree with Austin, but the jerseys are just bland. Blue and Orange is an elite color combination, and Florida went full Boise State.

5. Arizona Wildcats

I'll catch some flack for this one, I know. I think these are solid kits. Nothing wrong with them. But they could be better.

Austin

Underrated. The classic stripes down the buttons were a staple forever, and they still look great. They remind me of the Atlanta Braves uni's, and those are top 5 in the MLB.

Phillip

These are actually my second favorite. They just look so solid. the stripes along with the buttons. The color scheme. Love these.

Cade

I actually really like these. Surprisingly, I like the navy uniform more than I like the red one. The metallic red Arizona on the sleeve just makes them pop.

4. TCU Horned Frogs

I'm sorry. I'm a fan. Some may say they're boring but they have a great color and they let it do the talking. Bold "TCU" and no number on the front? It's working for me.

Austin

The jersey's pictured are nice, but their throwbacks...? FIRE. Those Frogs jersey's are up there with OSU's uni's. Also, Horned Frogs, best mascot in the Big 12?

Phillip

Meh. Kyle blew it not posting the throwbacks. These are... fine.

Kyle (Continued)

Okay... So we can all pine for the throwbacks but it's a ranking of "CWS Uniforms". We haven't yet seen those in Omaha.

Cade

Yeah, I'm with you Phillip. The throwback "Frogs" uniforms are fire, and NOT of the dumpster variety. They might be my favorite baseball uniforms ever. On par with the orange OSU jersey. That being said, the jersey pictured above is just lame. TCU has so much potential with black and purple, but these just don't do it for me.

3. UC Santa Barbara Gauchos

So, I'm sure this is either a love 'em or hate 'em pick... I love 'em! Loud yellow with the classic script? "We're in Omaha!" Shove it down their throats. Big time in my book.

Austin

From the font, to the color scheme, there is a bit of a 70's feel to them and I kinda dig it? Usually, I am one for clean and simple, but these UCSB uni's are groovy!

Phillip

These are just great. Honestly they shouldn't work as well as they do. They're like that girl at the bar that shouldn't be pretty... but is and you can't stop looking at her.

Cade

I could see ranking their baby blue-ish ones here, but not yellow. Is yellow the worst mainstream color out there? What else is worse, brown? Eggshell? I just really don't like yellow, so therefore I do not like these.

2. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Tech may not have a QB, totally kidding. But they have a top-notch uni game across the board. Black and red look mean as hell and I like these in particular for their "alternate" look.

Austin

Your fans are fickle, but your uni's are clean. Black uni's have always been my kryptonite. All black everything, and you've got a winner. Can't wait to see the Pokes in all black this fall.

Phillip

Really? 2nd? Like most Under Armour uniforms these under perform. I feel like they were playing pin the tail on the donkey when placing the "UA" logo, the "TT" logo and the number.

Cade

Kyle coming in from the top rope! I must admit that I really do like Texas Tech's baseball uniforms. I like this look a lot. They don't overdo it, unlike their football uniforms. Texas Tech may invent an animated football jersey just to say they did it first, no matter how ridiculous it looks.

1. Oklahoma State Cowboys

This is not a homer thing. These are lit. No buttons. Throwback. Done right. And it makes it all the better that they represent the days when the Cowboys called Omaha home.

Hopefully, we don't go another 17 years before appreciating it again.

Austin

Okay, okay. The QB list could be argued that some bias was involved. However, ranking Oklahoma State's uni's #1 is a FACT. If you disagree, you are blind. I love the no button look, and the black bat underline, YASSSSS.

Phillip

These are the best in a line-up up great unis for the OSU team. It's also the best uniform of all the OSU teams. Yes even over the football uniforms. You can call it homer all you want. These are just impeccable.

Cade

I blacked out. What happened?

Goodness, these are so, so good. Such a clean throwback. The sleeve stripes make this thing pop, and I cannot believe that they aren't available for purchase for the general public. I would get married in one of these.
