Former Oklahoma State basketball player and assistant coach Brooks Thompson has died at the age of 45.

Thompson transferred to Oklahoma State after starting his career at Texas A&M. He played two years for the Cowboys before being drafted in the first round of the 1994 NBA Draft.
Once his playing days were over he enjoyed a long coaching career including assistant stints at Oklahoma State, Southeastern Lousiana and Arizona State before taking the head coaching job at UTSA.
Thompson was diagnosed with double organ failure in April of this year.
