The final pieces of the non-conference schedule for the OSU men’s basketball team have now fallen into place.
The Maui Invitational released the tournament’s bracket today and revealed that OSU will open up against the UConn Huskies in game three. The Cowboys will then face the winner or loser of game four: North Carolina v.s. Chaminade (I think we all know the outcome of that game already). ESPN has UConn ranked 20th heading into the season and UNC ranked 6th. Cowboy fans knew the team would get a tough draw no matter how the bracket was stacked, but that is just about as tough as it could be.
However, these early season tests also provide Coach Underwood and the fans a chance to see just how good this team could truly be this season.
The other side of the bracket features Tennessee and Wisconsin in game one followed by Georgetown versus Oregon in game two.
Game three is scheduled for November 21st at 4:00 p.m. HT (8:00 p.m. CST) and will air on ESPNU.
