Dutch 7-Footer to Join Oklahoma State This Week

OSU added much needed size in the post with Lucas N’Guessan.

Lucas N’Guessan originally committed to Oklahoma State in May. He comes by way of the Canarias Basketball Academy in Spain, the same program that produced former OSU Forward Marek Soucek.

There were concerns about N’gucssan’s eligibility with OSU, but it appears that he has been cleared to join the program, according to John Helsley of the Oklahoman.

N’Guessan provides depth in the post that Oklahoma State desperately needs. The 18-year old may not contribute much right away, but he does provide a lot of potential. He moves well without the ball and is very coordinated for somebody with his size. If he can learn to use his size in the post to his advantage, I’d be very intrigued to see what he can bring to the table early in his career at OSU.

N’Guessan rebounds the ball well, too. In just 13 minutes per game at Canarias Academy, he averaged 5.1 rebounds per game. OSU will need that kind of production on the glass in 2016-17.
