5-Star Recruit to Visit Stillwater This Weekend

5-Star Oklahoma State recruit, Collin Sexton, set to visit Stillwater this weekend.

5-Star point guard Collin Sexton recently sat down with Dan McDonald of Rivals.com for an interview. Why do you care? A month ago, Sexton released his top 10 schools via twitter, and Oklahoma State made the list:

Here’s a highlight video of Sexton playing with Team CP3 in Vegas:

Sexton is currently the number 7 ranked player in the 2017 Rivals Top 150. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Georgia product is a flat-out athlete. He hasn’t shown all the signs of being a “true” point guard, but he can get to the rim with ease and will finish with either hand on the layup, or throw it down with authority (0:07 mark of the video). His insane ball-handling allows him the ability to create his own shots. Along with his inside game, he can also knock down the three and he has a smooth stroke, as you can see in the video above. On the defensive end, he uses his long arms to his advantage and plays an aggressive style.

Sexton would be a huge get for the Cowboys. He’s currently scheduled to visit Stillwater this weekend.

Now, back to the interview with Dan McDonald. When asked about OSU specifically, here’s what Sexton had to say:

“I’ve been there already before the USA Basketball stuff. I talked to their point guard Jawun Evans who should be going to the draft after this season. He was at the Nike Skills and he should be going pro, so that’s appealing.”

Well, if Evans does go pro, Sexton coming to Stillwater would make me feel a whole lot better about that loss. Sexton also told McDonald that’s he’s unsure whether he will make a decision during the early signing period or if he will wait until after the season to decide.

It seems that it has been tough to get an idea of what schools, if any, Sexton is currently favoring. McDonald seems to think that Alabama along with the schools that have official visits scheduled or that he’s already visited, NC State, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Georgia Tech, are his top five.

Let’s hope his visit goes well this weekend and the Cowboys become the early favorite!
