NCAA Football: Sugar Bowl-Oklahoma State vs Mississippi

I hope you’re keeping score because I’m not.

Again, these pics are just so you get the basic idea of the color scheme. I’m not good at Photoshop, but we’ll work on that.

Also, Christopher will again earn no points for a correct guess since his prediction was not complete. Strike two, buddy.

Jake:

Black / Orange / Black - Black Chrome Pistol Pete helmet

I would love to see the Black-Grey-Grey combo we saw worn against West Virginia in 2012 but we haven't worn grey in forever it seems like, so realistically I see us going with Black-Orange-Black with the black chrome Pistol Pete helmets.

Joel:

White / Black / Black - White helmet - Phantom Pete logo

I think OSU will go with a white helmet, black pants, and black jersey this week. The helmet is going to be the Phantom Pete logo. This is my favorite combo I've seen OSU do in the last couple years, and it looked fantastic when it was worn against K-State. I bet it will look even better this time with the new jersey and pants. My original thought was they would go with a blackout, but I think that will be saved for later in the season against Texas Tech.

Dustin:

Black / Black / Black - Matte Black helmet - Orange brand

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl - Stanford v Oklahoma State

Cade is going to say that I'm stealing his idea... I mean, maybe I am, but I think the Cowboys come out in all black. A "blackout" uni, if you will. With Texas wearing the all whites, I think the all black look would be perfect for the Cowboys. Also, this is one of Oklahoma State's premier home games this season, so I expect them to bring out something flashy, and I believe B/B/B is the way to go. As far as helmet, I think they go with the matte black with the orange brand. Basically, the same uniform from the Fiesta bowl, just updated with the new style. I know we only get one pick, but I could also see the Cowboys going with an orange helmet. They wore O/B/B against Texas in 2014, and we haven't seen an orange helmet make an appearance yet this season.

Phillip:

Orange / Black / Black - Chrome Orange Pete helmet

I going with O/B/B. Chrome Orange Pete helmet. They haven’t pulled it out yet and since this game will be on ABC I expect a solid combo.

Christopher:

Black / Black / Black - no helmet

So we're just supposed to pick one, then? Fine. Texas will obviously be in their storm trooper whites, which is a great look for them. The Pokes have worn orange jerseys for two of their first three home games and I'm assuming they'll wear orange for homecoming as well, so I'm thinking black jerseys this week. There are several great combos they could go with, but I'm guessing they go B/B/B against Texas' all white.

I think we’re missing something, Christopher. What happened to placing a priority on players’ safety?

I have publicly or maybe just in Slack stated that the current OSU “brand” is my least favorite emblem/logo/symbol that the Cowboys have. Maybe it’s my affinity for the classic brand. But, in this instance, with the matte black and orange brand, I don’t hate it. Couple it with the B/O/B scheme of the new kits, especially with that new orange, and it would pop. Plus they’ve worn it against Texas before back in 2012.
