Oklahoma State wrestling releases 2016-17 season schedule

The No. 2 Cowboys will face Minnesota and Missouri on the road.

2016 NCAA Wrestling Championships

The Oklahoma State wrestling team released its schedule for the 2016-17 season Monday.

The Cowboys open the season with a three-dual road trip, starting Nov. 6 when they travel to Miami, Okla. to face Bucknell at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. Later in the month, they’ll head north to Minneapolis, Minn. to face off against No. 16 Minnesota before opening the month of December with the Bedlam dual Dec. 2 in Norman.

OSU will face Pittsburgh in its open homer Dec. 4. The Cowboys host No. 18 Cornell for the first time Dec. 16 before competing in the Reno Tournament of Champions on Dec. 18 in Reno, Nev. to close out 2016. The Cowboys open 2017 with the Southern Scuffle from Jan. 1 to 2 in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Following the Scuffle, OSU has a three-dual homestand highlighted with No. 4 Iowa on Jan. 15 before Big 12 foes West Virginia (Jan. 20) and No. 21 South Dakota State (Jan. 22). The Cowboys then hit the road to face No. 6 Missouri (Jan. 27), Iowa State (Jan. 29), Edinboro (Feb. 3) and Kent State (Feb. 4).

Former Cowboy Mark Branch and his Wyoming team come to Stillwater on Feb. 10 before the second Bedlam dual of the season Feb. 12. OSU wraps up the regular season Feb. 19 by hositng the NWCA Bowl Dual Series.

The Cowboys will go for its fifth consecutive Big 12 Tournament title March 4-5 at the BKO Center in Tulsa before heading to St. Louis for the 2017 NCAA Championships from March 16-18 at the Scottrade Center.
