A lot of Oklahoma State fans are worried about the season now that the Cowboys have started 0-3 in Big 12 play. However, the latest KenPom rankings still have the Cowboys in not that bad of a spot.
The good news: OSU basketball is 32nd in the country at kenpom.

The bad news: that is good for 9th in the Big 12.
As you can see, 32nd is not that bad when KenPom ranks 351 college basketball teams. According to my #research though, this isn’t second worst in the conference, It’s actually good for seventh best in the conference.
While Baylor may be ranked number 1 in the nation, KenPom only has them third best in the Big 12 and 7th overall.

The Big 12 is tied with the ACC for most teams in the top 40 with 8 teams.
Rounding out the Big 12 outside of the top 40 is Oklahoma at #75 and Texas at #79.
So R-E-L-A-X Cowboy fans, even though we aren’t doing so hot in conference play yet, we are in arguably the best basketball conference in the nation. Nothing is going to be easy, but nationally, people realize how tough the Big 12 gauntlet is, and we take less of a hit for starting out 0-3. So don’t give up on this team yet. There is still a lot of season to play.
