Week 7 Big 12 Power Rankings: There’s a new #1 in the conference

TCU clocks in at No. 1 for the first time as the conference’s lone unbeaten

NCAA Football: Texas Christian at Oklahoma State Rob Ferguson-USA TODAY Sports

Did everyone enjoy their bye week? I’m sure most Oklahoma State fans did, watching Oklahoma collapse in Norman to Iowa State (LOL). As a result, TCU is now No. 1 in our Cowboys Ride For Free Big 12 Power Rankings. Check out how far the Sooners fell and where they stack up with the Cowboys. And leave us your Big 12 Power Rankings in the comment section below!

#10 Baylor

I really hope Oklahoma State doesn’t get the competitive version of Baylor we’ve seen the last few weeks. It would be nice to end a three-game skid to the Bears with an emphatic beatdown — Gallagher Martin

#9 Kansas

Texas Tech exposed the Jayhawks for, well, what it's been for, like, ever? Another drubbing at the hands of a conference foe keeps Kansas looking for answers (and bright spots) as it nears the midway point of the season — Brodie Smith

#8 Kansas State

I have to say, the Wildcats are a disappointment thus far in the season. Bill Snyder has his team off to a 3-2 start, defeating Baylor and dropping an overtime game to Texas this past weekend. We will see if they can turn it around against TCU this weekend — Tyler Wiederhoeft

#7 Iowa State

Impressive road victory in Norman last week. I’ll consider a higher ranking next week after seeing how they play at home against Kansas — Cory Landes

#6 Texas

Remember when Texas players carried Charlie Strong off on their shoulders after beating OU in 2015? How would they react with Tom Herman? I’d like to find out — Gallagher Martin

#5 Texas Tech

Beating Kansas is not something to boast about, but the Red Raiders have only lost once this season and appear to be getting the offense in order for the rest of the conference schedule — Brodie Smith

#4 West Virginia

Definitely a top four team, but they’ll have to knock off OSU and OU to play for a conference title — Cory Landes

#3 Oklahoma

I'm going to assume the loss to Iowa State was a fluke. But still, it's Iowa State. If I were looking at OU and OSU as the old BCS system did, OSU comes out on top as TCU was what they call a "quality loss" — Tyler Wiederhoeft

#2 Oklahoma State

Solid performance against BYE this week moves them up the rankings — Benjamin Clark

#1 TCU

As the only undefeated team left in the Big 12, it's hard not to put the No. 6 team in the country here. Man, I'd love another crack at this team — Tyler Wiederhoeft
