High Noon Highlights (10/5): Mason Rudolph on Heisman short list

It’s high noon ... here are your Oklahoma State sports highlights.

Mason Rudolph on short list for Heisman candidates:

Halfway through the 2017 season, Mason Rudolph looks like he could be planning a trip to New York in December. Rudolph currently leads the nation in points responsible for, and is three touchdowns ahead of 2016 winner Lamar Jackson.

The biggest competition for Rudolph might be in his own back yard. Baker Mayfield poses a the biggest threat as he’s having a heck of a year himself. The last Big 12 quarterback to win college football’s most-coveted trophy was Baylor’s Robert Griffin III in 2012.

Mike Boynton to hold first press conference since Lamont Evans scandal and firing at 2:45 CST:

By now, we all know about the scandal surrounding former assistant coach Lemont Evans. Today at 2:45, we’ll hear from head coach Mike Boynton for the first time. While we don’t know exactly what Boyton will say, I expect it won’t be much in terms of specifics. There’s still a lot that’s unknown, and a lot still needs to be worked out. We’ll also see if Boynton can handle the pressure of a tough press conference like this.

CJ Moore releases highlight video:

The Oklahoma State receiving core that’s stacked this year will lose key production at the end of the season, but it looks like they won’t miss a beat when Union WR CJ Moore makes it to Stillwater nextyear. This kid is good. He can get open, he’s fast, and he stands tall at 6’4”. I cannot wait to see what he does in the orange and black.

Bonus:

After the tragedy in Las Vegas, the UNLV football team made tribute helmets with ribbons on them to honor the victims and first responders. This is great and is such a classy move on UNLV’s part.
