High Noon Highlights (12/13): There is still something to play for in Orlando

Here are your Wednesday highlights!

It’s High Noon...

Also a live look at Stillwater as students are finishing up finals week:

There’s Still Something at Stake for Cowboy Football:

Even though this season fell short of expectations, Oklahoma State football can still reach a program milestone. With a win over Virginia Tech in the Camping World Bowl, the Cowboys will have three 10-win seasons in a row for the first time. Previous to this three year stretch, the best was from 1986-1988, when Oklahoma State went 26-9 during that span.

“That’s something I told the defense in our meeting,” said OSU safety Tre Flowers. “I know we wanted to win the Big 12, unfortunately we didn’t, but let’s go out with 10 wins.”

Braxtin Miller Earns Freshman of the Week Honors:

Coming off of the huge upset of UCLA on Friday, another Cowgirl basketball player was given a weekly award. The U.S. Basketball Writers Association gave Cowgirl freshman Braxtin Miller their Freshman of the Week award. Miller had a career-high 19 points, four rebounds, and two steals, all while playing 38 of a possible 40 minutes. Congrats Braxtin and go Cowgirls!!

Coach Gundy “Recruits” Jimmy Butler:

Jimmy Butler is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA, currently playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves. That however, did not stop Mike Gundy from trying (jokingly) to get him to strap it on for Cowboy football. Butler showed up to a game the other day wearing a Oklahoma State jersey with Dez Bryant’s college number on it, as well as his name on the back. Nice to see someone not affiliated with the school rocking the orange and black!

Happy Birthday, Rickie!

One of Stillwater’s proudest sons turns 29 today. Happy Birthday to our favorite golfer, Rickie Fowler! Here’s to another year of making our #golfschool proud!
