Junior guard Tavarius Shines’ season with the Cowboys is officially over after it was announced he will undergo back surgery this week.

Coach Brad Underwood made the announcement after Saturday’s 84-71 win over Texas. Speaking the Tulsa World, Underwood said...
"Young man has really fought extremely hard to come back and play this season. We’ve got to get him healthy."
Shine, a reserve guard, last played with the team in their Nov. 23rd win over Georgetown at the Maui Invitational.
He averaged 6.1 points and 3.3 rebounds a game with OSU last season, and was a key contributor averaging 22.6 minutes a game.
No other information has been released about the injury, so there is no known timetable for Shine’s return. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to (hopefully) seeing him back on the court next season.
