Oklahoma Quarterback Baker Mayfield was arrested for late Friday night in Arkansas, and it’s all we ever wanted and more and now faces multiple charges including public intoxication, disorderly conduct, fleeing and resisting arrest.
According to a Fayettville police report, obtained by ESPN, Mayfield ran and was tackled, before being handcuffed.
I told Mayfield to come over to me. When I gave him that command, Mayfield began to walk away from me. I repeatedly told him to stop. Mayfield then began to sprint away. I chased after him. Mayfield was tackled to the ground. While on the ground, I gave repeated orders for him to place his arms behind his back. Mayfield kept his arms locked tight and would now allow me to place his arms behind his back. I eventually forced Mayfield’s arms behind his back. I then placed him in handcuffs
A relatively minor accusation led to an incredible morning on Twitter. Social media (bless you) wasted no time offering commentary on the situation. These are some of our favorite tweets.
@OKTXARPoke resisting and fleeing bothers me, bothered me when he's doing the same thing on the field against oSu. He's pretty good at it

@pistolsguy I guess @Cchelf10 is the only qb in OK that has "get away from the cops" speed.

Positive for Oklahoma fans is at least Baker Mayfield wasn’t charged with punching any women. Might have cost him a half against UTEP.

Underrated part about the Baker Mayfield arrest is the booking time. 8:21 AM. First guy in the jail. NFL scouts love that work ethic. pic.twitter.com/i6PV2S5vJi

In regards to the police officer that tackled Mayfield...
Sources confirm: Mike Gundy is not recruiting the police officer who tackled Mayfield.

@TheOkiePokie Rivals now has him as a 3⭐️ "Great tackler with good instincts. Quick sideline to sideline and causes havoc in the backfield"

Does Rivals, Scout or 247 already have a recruiting profile for the Arkansas officer who tackled a sprinting Baker Mayfield?

My favorite excerpt: "The front of Mayfield's clothing was covered in food." That's gross and hilarious. https://t.co/0elEthVef0
