On the heels of Doug Gottlieb announcing he would not be the next men’s basketball coach, Oklahoma State surprises everyone by announcing who will.
We're excited to announce Mike Boynton as our new basketball coach. Boynton is one of the top up-and-coming coaches in the business #okstate pic.twitter.com/ID4Hm4iJsd

Mike Holder has promoted Mike Boynton to the role of head coach. Boynton spent last season as an assistant for Oklahoma State under Brad Underwood. He was also an assistant under Underwood for three seasons at Stephen F. Austin.
Previous coaching stops include Coastal Carolina, Wofford, and four years at his alma mater South Carolina.
A good thing about this hiring is the Cowboys will likely continue to run the same deadly offense as they did last year, but will likely be without Jawun Evans. Jeffrey Carroll may also be absent from the team after declaring for the NBA draft.
We will continue to follow this story and have more in the coming days.
