The Cowboys will be featured in the Frisco Classic this weekend and are set to play teams they are quite familiar with.
The Cowboys will come into the tournament 4-4 with a team batting average of .285 and a team ERA of 5.35.
Friday 3/3, 7:30 p.m., Nebraska: For their first game of the tournament, the Cowboys are set to play old Big 12 opponent Nebraska. Look for Garrett Benge to do some heavy hitting this weekend, as he’s got a batting average of .424 so far this season. Nebraska comes in 2-4 on the season with a team batting average of .243 lead by Mojo Hagg with a .444 average. their team ERA is .450. This should be a good game with quite a few runs scored. Last time the Cowboys played the Huskers was in the Clemson regional last season where they beat the Huskers 6-0.
Saturday 3/4 , 4:00 p.m., Arizona: This game will be one of revenge for the Cowboys. Arizona was the team that beat the Cowboys last year 5-1 in the College World Series to advance to the semi-finals. This season, Arizona will come into the weekend undefeated at 8-0 with a .378 team batting average. Nick Quintana leads the team with .500 batting average. They also have 3.17 team ERA. This should be the toughest game of the tournament for the Cowboys.
Sunday 3/5 , 3:30 p.m., Arkansas: For the last game in the tournament, the Cowboys will face Arkansas. The Razorbacks have a team batting average of .291, and are led by Grant Koch with a .389 batting average. The Hogs have a team ERA of .406. Last time the Hogs and the Cowboys faced of was in Fayetteville where the Hogs won 7-6.
