Joey Biggs Leaving for Illinois

This went from “Who?” to “Not ideal.” in a hurry.

After 15 years, Joey Biggs is leaving OSU.

When I first saw this, my immediate reaction was “Who is Joey Biggs?”

Welp, as it turns out, Joey Biggs was the assistant athletic director for basketball, and has been for the previous 10 years.

From his Oklahoma State staff page:

He oversees travel, budget, scheduling, special events, alumni relations, and all other administrative and operational functions of the Cowboy Basketball program.

Biggs used to oversee all marketing efforts for OSU Athletics, but it has been scaled down since 2006. In 2004, he set marketing records during the football season.

While at OSU, the school set an all-time record for football season ticket sales in 2004, as well as records for total ticket revenues, merchandise revenues, multimedia rights revenues and soft-drink revenues.

HE WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS seems to be a bit peeved he couldn’t steal Lamont Evans away from the Cowboys and take him to the North, so he decided to take someone else from the staff.

Biggs will likely have a similar role while at Illinois, according to an article from scout.com.
