He’s a legend in Stillwater and in college basketball (despite not being in the basketball hall of fame), and now Coach Eddie Sutton is set to get his own documentary.
1577 Productions out of Oklahoma City is putting together a documentary on the man whose name is on the court of Gallagher-Iba Arena.
A year ago we had an idea that literally woke us up in the middle of the night. Just as the chanting voices of Eddie! have filled Gallagher-IBA Arena countless times, this idea to make a cinematic documentary about Coach Sutton's life captivated our attention.
Since then we have gotten to know the Sutton family, obtained the exclusive rights to make this film, and gathered many valuable friends to help along the journey. Now, we need you to help make this dream a reality.
The documentary will explore Sutton’s entire career including the scandals and personal struggles.
1577 Productions is currently raising $50,000 in funds for the project on IndieGoGo. There are difference contributor levels that include things like a social media thank you from the crew, a Tony Allen signed basketball, and an invitation to the premiere. The group is aiming for a fall release.
