WATCH: Mark Rogers Interviews Thabo Mwaniki

The 2017 defensive back signee talks his role on the Cowboys, his recruiting and more.

Mark Rogers interviewed Thabo Mwaniki, a defensive back out of Denton Guyer, who inked to play for the Cowboys next year on National Signing Day.

They talked about why Mwaniki chose Oklahoma state.

“It was really a hard feeling,” Mwaniki said. “Though I got those late offers from TCU Baylor and UCLA. Really, they came too late for me. I had built a relationship with the coaching staff at Oklahoma State since August last year... I felt like that was the place for me and that’s where I fit and so I stuck with my commitment. “

They also talked about his preparation for arriving in Stillwater.

“I’m very excited,” Mwaniki said. “Right now I’m just trying to make sure my body is physically ready to head up there and go up there and compete at the best possible postition I can. Really, I’ve always wanted the recruitment process to be over as soon as I committed I wanted to sign those papers and get up there to Stillwater.

Thabo seems like he is really excited to play in Stillwater and that’s exciting.

Mwaniki had 64 tackles in his senior season, one interception and nine pass break ups. he also contributed to the offensive side of the ball accounting for 567 yards and had one touchdown.

Mwaniki is a well-rounded player that will bring a lot of talent to the Cowboys.
