Oklahoma State Adds Walk-On Reciever

Add another name to the depth chart

As if Oklahoma State’s receiving corp wasn’t deep enough, they’ll add another name to the list this season.

Deer Creek receiver Zach Kerstetter will join the Cowboys as a preferred walk-on next season. He made the announcement earlier this week.

Kerstetter chose OSU over a similar offer from Oklahoma and a scholarship offer from Division II Oklahoma Baptist.

It’s not a huge surprise Kerstetter picked the Cowboys, as he’s been coached by two former Oklahoma State players; the Antler’s receivers coach Brayden Stringer, a former OSU QB, and Deer Creek’s offensive coordinator Josh Cooper, a former OSU receiver.

In an interview with NewsOK, Kerstetter said his dream was to play D1 football.

“Going Division I has always been a dream of mine since I was a little kid,” Kerstetter told The Oklahoman. “When the opportunity presented itself I had to take it.”

The Cowboys are already pretty stacked at receiver next season with James Washington, Marcel Ateman, Jalen McClesky, Tyron Johnson, Chris Lacy, and Dillon Stoner. However, it never hurts to add a guy who had a 1,278 yard, 15 touchdown season to the roster.
