The Opponent:
Oral Roberts is currently 26-9 on the season and 14-1 in the Summit League. Not surprisingly, they’re set to win the Summit for the 1,000th straight year (only a slight exaggeration). The team is currently on a seven game win streak and hitting an impressive .286 as a team. Dylan Snypes currently leads ORU with a batting average of .349. This offense could be a challenge for the Pokes.
The pitching staff has a 3.08 ERA. Logan Michaels, who is 3-1 with a 2.38 ERA, is projected to start for the Golden Eagles.
The Cowboys:
Holliday’s boys are coming off a weekend in Lawrence where they went 1-2 against Kansas. The Cowboys will be looking for a desperately needed win on Tuesday.
The pokes are currently hitting .276 with Garrett McCain leading the way with an average of .371 on the season. Look for McCain to get some hits with Garrett Benge and Colin Simpson also looking to add their totals.
The Cowboy pitching staff has a not-so-good 4.14 ERA. Jake Cowan has the lowest ERA on the staff at 1.82 in 24.2 innings pitched.
The Cowboys need this win if they want to keep any hope of the postseason alive. Hopefully the bats can get hot, the runs will be brought in, and the pitching will get solid so OSU can pull out a much needed victory.
