This weekend, the tennis teams will finish off what has been a memorable season. Let’s preview what both teams have in store for the final games of the regular season.
Women:
The Cowgirls are currently 18-4 (6-1 Big 12) on the season and No. 9 on the ITA rankings. They are also coming off a shut out Bedlam win on senior day last weekend. Katarina Adamovic is currently 10-0 in singles and Vladica Babic is a perfect 10-0.
Their first match of the weekend will be against West Virginia in Morgantown at 5 p.m. ET on Friday. The Mountaineers are not having the same luck as the Cowgirls this season, coming into the matchup with a 4-13 (0-7) record. Lyn Yuen Choo leads the Mountaineers with a 5-5 record in singles for the season.
On Sunday the Cowgirls will take on Iowa State at 10 a.m. CT in Ames. The Cyclones come into the match with a 15-8 (1-6 Big 12) record. They also have a six-match losing streak. They are led by Karen Alvarez with a 3-3 record in singles for the season.
Men:
The Cowboys currently have a 21-4 (3-1 Big 12) record for the season. They currently have a four-match win streak and are currently No. 5 in the nation according to the ITA. The team is lead by Julian Cash who is 12-1 this season.
The Cowboys will have a Bedlam matchup on Friday at 12:30 p.m. in Norman. The Sooners are currently 13-9 (1-3 Big 12). OU is coming off a win at Texas Tech, and are led by Spencer Papa who is 7-5 on the season.
