The Shockers are currently 14-13, but are on a three-game win streak. The team has a batting average of .240, which isn’t great. Jacob Katzfey leads the team with a batting average of .313 and has 5 runs on the season.
The Shockers pitching staff has a 4.07 ERA, with Reagan Biechler leading the team with a 1.59 ERA in 11 innings over 15 appearances this season.
Expected to start tonight on the bump is red-shirt freshman Keylan Kilgore. Kilgore has 3.38 ERA in 4 appearnces and 5.1 innings pitched.
The Cowboys
The Cowboys are coming off a tough start to Big 12 play after getting swept by TCU on the road and going 1-2 in their home series against West Virginia. The Pokes need this midweek win.
The Cowboys currently have a team batting average of .275. While this is higher than the Shockers, The Pokes still haven’t been hitting the ball super well. However the Pokes do have a couple of batters that have been killing it lately. Garrett McCain currently holds a .350 batting average, Ryan Cash has a .357 batting average and Garrett Benge holds a .337 batting average.
The Cowboy pitching staff holds a 3.7 ERA with Jake Cowan leading the team with a 1.1 ERA in 10 apperances and 16.1 innings pitched. Expect Joe Lienhard to take the mound tonight, who has an ERA of 2.21 and is 1-0 this season in 10 appearances and 2 starts.
If the Cowboys want to keep their season alive, this is a needed win. They will play Kansas State this weekend at Allie P. Reynolds.
