BREAKING: Jawun Evans has Signed an Agent

Any dreams of returning to Oklahoma State are now officially dead.

While it isn’t really surprising, there will still be fans who are disappointed (and relieved if you are a fan of any other Big 12 team) about this news.

After the basketball season was ended by the sharp-shooting Michigan Wolverines, Evans told John Helsley of The Oklahoman that he would “most likely be back.”

After the great escapade that was now-disgraced head coach Brad Underwood’s unceremonious and heart-crushing departure from Oklahoma State, Jawun Evans declared for the draft.

Many people figured it would be the end of Evans’s college career. Why would he want to stay and learn his third offense in three years (Ford, Underwood, and Boynton)?

However, there was always a glimmer of hope that he would come back to OSU since he didn’t immediately sign an agent.

Personally, I thought the hiring of Mike Boynton made have been made in part to entice Evans back to Stillwater. Boynton will likely run a similar offense to the one Evans excelled in last year. In that offense, Evans averaged 19.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 6.2 apg and 1.8 spg.

As for his future, Evans will join a good number of NBA players represented by ASM Sports, including former Cowboys James Anderson and Markel Brown.

We wish Evans nothing but the best of luck in the future. Thank you for a fun two years, now go make us proud at the next level!
