Finally, some good news for the Oklahoma State basketball program.
After two weeks of posting stories about staff members leaving Oklahoma State to go to places like Illinois and Tulsa, Mike Boynton has made a new addition to the staff.
According to Evan Daniels of Scout.com, Boynton is set to hire former Miami of Ohio head coach John Cooper.

Cooper was let go from Miami (Ohio) last month after five seasons with the Redhawks and a 59-100 record. Cooper was previously the head coach of Tennessee State from 2009-2012.
Cooper and Boynton have history; Cooper was an assistant coach at South Carolina during Boynton’s first season as a player in 2000.
The 48-year-old Kansas City native also has coaching stops at Oregon (2002-2004) and Auburn (2004-2009).
Cooper will join Lamont Evans as Boynton’s only hires so far. Boynton still has to fill a few more positions including another assistant coach, a Director of Basketball Operations, and a Video Coordinator, among possible others.
