Rickie Fowler Tied for First Heading Into the Weekend

Could this finally be the year Rickie takes home the green jacket?

PGA: The Masters - Second Round Michael Madrid-USA TODAY Sports

We made it to the weekend at The Masters, and Oklahoma State golf school alumnus Rickie Fowler is right in the thick of things at the top.

Fowler is currently in a four-way tie with Charley Hoffman, Sergio Garcia and Thomas Pieters, with all four golfers logging a 36-hole total of four strokes under par. William McGirt is currently two-under par, earning him the sole fifth-place position.

Things were not easy in the first two rounds, as the wind wreaked havoc on the golfers and everyone had average scores. Fowler ended the first round +1 after double bogeying the 18th hole. In his second round, Fowler carded a -5 to roar back to the top of the leaderboard.

Alex Noren, the other Oklahoma State alumnus, did not make the cut, posting a 36-hole total of +8. The cut line was +6. Noren was four-over par both days before not making the weekend.

Here’s the highlights of Fowler’s second round condensed into 1:47 for your enjoyment.

The pairings and tee times were released for Saturday.
