It was announced earlier this year that the newly-led Oklahoma State Cowboys would be participating in the 2017 Legends Classic.

Now, we know the first two opponents and dates of those games.

To open up, the Cowboys will welcome Pepperdine to Gallagher-Iba Arena on Friday, Nov. 10. The second round will take place six days later when Mike Boynton leads Oklahoma State against in-state foe Oral Roberts on Nov. 16.

We talked about how the non-conference home schedule last year was soft, and the fans of Oklahoma State deserved better. These two game won’t do anything to change that.

Pepperdine is coming off a 9-22 season and eighth-place finish in the West Coast Conference, coming in just ahead of Pacific and Portland.

Oral Roberts did not have the success in basketball last season as they are having in baseball this season. They finished last in the Summit League with an 8-22 record with only four conference wins. Plus, they’ll be breaking in a new coaching staff next season.

After these two games, the Cowboys will head to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 20 and 21 to play two games against either Penn State, Pittsburgh or Texas A&M.

The games in New York can be seen on the ESPN family of networks.

Tickets for the championship round can be purchased at ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.
