Outfielder Garrett McCain and third baseman Garrett Benge both earned spots on the first team. Pitcher Tyler Buffett and catcher Colin Simpson received honorable mentions while outfielder Cade Cabiness made the All-Big 12 freshmen team
Benge and McCain were the only two Cowboys to start in all 51 games.
McCain lead the Big 12 this season with his .395 batting average. This is his first time receiving this honor.
Benge’s season was also impressive with a .319 batting average and is among the top of the Big 12 with 45 walks. This is the second year for the third baseman to make an All Big-12 team after earning a spot on the second team last year.
OSU is 26-25 on the season and 8-13 in conference play after a two-game sweep of the Sooners last weekend. They will face top-seeded Texas Tech in their first game of the Big 12 tournament on Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
Congratulations Cowboys on the prestigious honor.
